New World Record Common!!!
We proudly present exclusively for Dynamite Baits the catch of Mary, the world record common carp at a new stunning record-weight of 39, 2 Kg.
After his 14th night of fishing at the world record venue, my 33 year old brother Nermin Caro managed to beat his personal best in a shape of Mary, but I will let him tell the story about this incredible catch:
Nermin : I still can’t believe all this happened to me.......it’s like a dream, if it is please never wake me up!!!!!!! I went back to Germany last year, because of my new job, It’s the same company where my brother Emir Caro Works as a truck-driver in the chemical business. Every time i went to my brother’s house, i saw the pictures of two carp Mary & Joe hanging on his wall so i asked him a hundred and one times if it was possible to take me to his
1syndicate-lake where both of the fish lived, he told me time and time again "they not admitting any new members at the moment, stay cool and I will get you in” (For i. have very little patience in waiting for thing’s)
The problem was hundreds of carp Anglers all over Europe where trying to join the world record venue, but it was always a no go!!!! it was this year, in June when Emir called me one morning.....
Emir : Brother I have bad news for you, they don’t want to take any more new members at the moment, but you are the last one, to get in for this year!!!
Nermin: Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At the end of July I started to check up on the lake with Emir. He showed me lots of different spots on the lake at this time of year the venue was rammed full of carp anglers so It wasn’t easy to start feeding a certain spot.
My first choice was the fallen tree spot, at this time nobody was fishing there and after the first night I managed to catch my first fish from the venue, it was a 15kg (33lb) catfish, Just one hour later another fish had joined it on my unhooking-mat. It was a nice mirror carp of 7,5kg (16lb 5oz) My first carp from the record venue, great!
In the next 72 hours I didn’t have any more action on this spot. (Expect millions of ducks diving on my baits) so I decided to feed another much deeper spot which Emir had shown me, where the ducks didn’t haven’t a chance in picking up my baits.
I prepared both spots in 7 meters of water with the new Red Fish Boilies and Marine Halibut Pellets from Dynamite Baits.
After 2 week of Pre Baiting I decided to give it a go on my new spot, after 4 days of fishing all I had to show for it was one bream. I carried on with my Pre Baiting tactics and after another week I decided to give it another go for 4 days. My Rods were placed on exactly the same baited spots as before on the first afternoon and nothing happened for a few hours but In the middle of the darkness my right hand Delkim scream off and didn’t stop until I picked up my new Venturis V2 13ft 3,25lbs Rod from Venture. The fish felt like a good one and went into middle of the lake kiting from left to right, after about 20 minutes of heavy fighting the fish swam towards me and went straight into a near by snag, I tried everything to get him out but couldn’t manage to budge him! I went totally crazy...... I lost a good fish without even knowing which one it was. The next 72 hours were very quiet and quite hard for me I went home again without a fish, I was really frustrated! But I new I would be back again, for sure!!!
After my last session and just one lost fish to show for it I feed the rest of my bait I Don’t know exactly how much, but it was a quite a lot.
2.The next Thursday came fast and after a hectic day at work I arrived late afternoon at the lake, everything was set up fast and after casting out my rods I felt to sleep early that evening.
After a silent night without a take I felt completely refreshed the next morning, I gave Emir a call on the phone, he was also fishing at another water and had also no action through the night.
On the Friday afternoon my left hand indicator gave a few short bleeps, just a bream I thought to myself, but one minute later my right hand rod scream off....wooooowww can’t believe it....after a short fight a small common broke the surface and was quickly scooped up in my landing net, Yes, I was on the right track. I took a couple of quick snaps on my mobile and send them to Emir.
I recast both rods to their original positions and baited up with another kilo of Red Fish and also some of New the Source 6mm & 8 mm Pellets over each rod, both rods where set up with a 26mm red fish bottom bait and a 15mm Red Fish Pop Up.
That night turned out to be very quiet
Next morning my brother Emir came down for a coffee and a catch up of the last few days, he asked me if I was going to pack up later that day but something deep inside tells me that I needed to stay., The weather conditions seem to be perfect and I new it would be the best time to catch a good fish.
After two hours Emir left me and went home, he was planning to get back fishing that evening.
It was about 2.40 p.m. when my left V2 Rod hopped round and my Delkim start to scream. Wwwwwwoooooooowwwwwww..............what a take!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As I lifted into the fish the rod bent curved over and I new I was into a huge one.... stay cool I told to my self “Where is my brother when I need some help”?
The fish went directly into the middle of the lake but I managed to turn him slowly but very carefully back. It took another 20 minutes before I got my first glimpse of the fish on the surface, nooooooooooooo........ I can’t believe it was the venues biggest fish Mary!!!!!
My knees started to shake, please....please...stay on please after a few more tense minutes and on the third time
3. she came up I managed to slip her into the net, I couldn’t believe it, she was mine!!!!!!
I phoned my brother Emir while still holding the fish in the net. “Emir, got her, I got her Mary she is in my landing net” I was over the moon.
I carried her up the bank and put her onto the unhooking mat and then slid her into the big carp sack from JRC. Emir arrived at the lake after one hour with 2 good friends to help prepared everything to find out how big Mary was this time. Emir told us “she seems to be in very good condition”.
He new as it had been the 3 time he had seen her on the bank. The Video camera was also prepared to show exactly how we weigh the fish, me and my Friend Hazim put a bank stick through the scales and onto our shoulder, the scale turned to 20, 25,30,35,36,37,38,39...39,2Kg it stop at incredible 39,2Kg (86lb) Yes we got it on camera brother, It’s a new world record and the first time Mary gets over 39Kg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeahhhhhhhhhhh..........We went totally crazy, how beautiful and big she is!!!!!!!!!
We took carefully pictures and video and let her swim soon as possible.
Mary was hooked on 26 mm Red Fish Boilies and 15 mm Red Fish Pop Up (Snowman) from
Dynamite Baits. Nermin also used Marine Halibut & the Source Pellets from Dynamite Baits.
The Rod was the V2 13ft 3,25 lbs and Daiwa XT Reel 5000.
Hook link: Quicksilver Gold 35 lbs. Score Gold Leadcore 45 lbs. Korda Wide Gape X size 4. Fox Inline Lead 113gr.
That’s the set up for the new world record "MARY" biggest common carp in the world!!!!
Many Thanks for supporting me every time to my Brother Emir & also to Dynamite Baits!!!
Many Greets
Nermin Caro
